Julie grew up outside of Atlanta and later moved to Vermont in 2005, a transition that ultimately led her in a new professional direction. Katherine, a Vermont native, studied French at Davidson College in North Carolina, which has proven useful when working with many of the French companies they purchase from. After returning home and working in the ski industry, she was presented with the opportunity to buy the business and pivoted without looking back.

What’s in a Name?

The name La Pêche reflects both owners. “Pêche” means peach in French—Julie is from the Peach State, and Katherine was the French major, making it a natural fit.

History & Mission

Both Julie and Katherine worked for the shop’s previous owner, gaining a deep understanding of the importance of helping women find bras that truly support them. When the opportunity arose, they purchased the business in February 2019, completed a brief renovation, and reopened as La Pêche Lingerie on March 1st.

Their mission is simple: to create a place where women feel taken care of. For many, bra shopping has meant years of frustration and limited sizing. La Pêche works to change that through expertise, a broader size range, and a supportive, personalized fitting process.

“At the end of the day, what inspires us most is seeing the shift that happens when someone finally finds the right bra… it can make a very real difference in how a woman moves through her day.” 

Services Offered

At the heart of La Pêche is professional bra fitting. Their team guides women in finding bras that truly support their bodies which is something many have struggled to do on their own.

They also offer mastectomy fittings, including pocketed bras and breast forms, approaching this work with care and respect. In addition, they help customers find pieces for specific needs, from shapewear for special events to comfortable sleepwear and loungewear.

Their goal is for every customer to leave feeling comfortable, supported, and well cared for.

The team at La Pêche invests in understanding how different brands fit, how bodies change, and how to guide customers through a respectful and comfortable experience. They also carry a broader size range than most retailers, offering real solutions instead of asking women to compromise.

Equally important is the environment they’ve created—one where women feel at ease, can ask questions, and even laugh a little.

“When someone trusts us enough to bring a friend, a daughter, or their mother to see us, that’s when we know we’re doing it right.”

A Sense of Community

Julie and Katherine are grateful for the community that supports them and strive to give back. They contribute to local fundraisers and offer discounts on bras for student athletes, recognizing the importance of proper support for active young women.

“Small towns work best when businesses and neighbors show up for each other, and we feel very lucky to be part of that.”

“If you’ve been unhappy with what you’re wearing underneath your clothes, come see us. 

We go to experts for so many things in life, yet every day we meet women who have been trying to figure out bras on their own for years and wearing things that make them uncomfortable or miserable. It really doesn’t have to be that way.”

La Pêche now operates two locations—Manchester, Vermont and Keene, New Hampshire—and deeply appreciates how each community has embraced what they do. For now, their focus remains on deepening their expertise, expanding their offerings, and ensuring every woman who walks through their doors feels well taken care of. 

Final Thoughts

“We truly consider it a privilege to do this work and to help women feel more comfortable and supported in their bodies. That trust means a great deal to us,” Julie notes.

They are also proud of their long-standing team, noting that a positive and respectful workplace carries into the customer experience.
