From Clutter to Community Impact

When we first started hosting Dumpster Day in our neighborhood, the goal was simple: create an opportunity for neighbors to clean out their homes, connect with one another, and give back to our community.  This year’s event exceeded anything we could have imagined.

Our 4th Annual Dumpster Day became our largest one yet, with more than 75 families participating throughout the afternoon. Together, we filled FOUR 30-yard dumpsters with unwanted household items and debris, helping residents clear out space and tackle projects they had been putting off.

What made this event especially meaningful was the amount of material we were able to divert from local landfills.  We collected two overflowing 20-yard dumpsters full of metal that will now be recycled instead of discarded.  Additionally, neighbors donated enough clothing, household goods, and furniture to completely fill two 15-foot trailers, providing much-needed resources for local nonprofit organizations serving families throughout our community.

Events like this are a reminder of what makes our neighborhood so special.  Time and again, residents show up not only for themselves, but for one another.  What could have been a simple cleanup day became an opportunity to reduce waste, support local charities, and strengthen community connections.

A huge thank you goes out to every resident who participated, donated, volunteered, or helped spread the word.  Your willingness to pitch in created a tangible impact that extends far beyond a single day.

As someone who has had the privilege of serving this neighborhood for several years, I continue to be inspired by the generosity and pride our residents have in this community.  We are already looking forward to making the next Dumpster & Donate Day even bigger and better.

Together, we did more than just clean out garages and closets...we made a difference.
