When & where did you adopt your pet? We searched high and low for another Border Collie to add to our family; we were lucky to find an honest and reputable breeder in southern Kentucky in the fall of 2020. 

What made you decide to make your home your pet's forever home? We wanted a companion for our old lady, Julep. At the time, she was nearly 10 and very well behaved; we wanted her to set the example for our puppy. 

How did your pet get his/her name? We’re a Kentucky-proud family! Bulleit is named after the Bulleit bourbon distillery. 

Does your pet have any favorite toys, places to sleep, visit, etc? He loves anything squeaky, enjoys tug of war, playing ball, and frisbee. He is Canine Good Citizen certified and genuinely looks forward to his visits to senior living facilities in the area. He loves to go on walks and training runs- his likely greatest wish is for more races where he can be included. 

Tell us something quirky or funny that your pet does: He’s a goofball… He prefers to lie on the floor against the wall, belly up. When he wants to play, he’ll grab a toy, shake his head really fast, and sound like the Tasmanian Devil. Because he was encouraged to sit on our laps as a puppy, he’s now convinced he’s a 60-pound lapdog. 

How has having your pet made your life better? Truly, there’s nothing better than coming home after a long day to an excited pup with a full body wag. He was patient with our then toddler as she learned how to treat a dog, and he shares so much love with folks when he visits. He’s an anomaly- a real calm Border Collie! 

Is there anything else you want to tell the neighbors about your pet? He’s honestly the best boy! If you happen to see us walking in the neighborhood, he’d love to say hello!
