Pip & Soda

Tiny Dogs, Big Personality

New Isle of Hope resident Erin Findlay may have arrived only weeks ago, but her two Pomeranians, Pip and Soda, are already making themselves known around the neighborhood. The pair of 4-year-old dogs — both female — turn heads everywhere they go, especially during their evening walks along the bluff.

Pip, a blonde Pomeranian, and Soda, her darker “cola-colored” companion, joined the family last year after the passing of the Findlays’ beloved Pomeranian, Nessie Jean. Their names suit them perfectly. Pip, short for Piper, was named after the tiny seed inside a piece of fruit, while Soda earned her name thanks to her bubbly personality and rich coloring that reminded the family of Coca-Cola.

Together, the duo has become a charming sight around Isle of Hope, trotting side by side on a split leash with enough fluff and personality to stop neighbors in their tracks. Soda has a surprising talent for retrieving tiny tennis balls “like a Labrador,” while Pip prefers showing off her signature high-five.

At home, the mischievous pair can usually be found stealing warm socks straight from the laundry pile or keeping watch from behind their new picket fence. They also enjoy visits to Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming Sandfly for grooming and treats.

For Erin, one memory stands above the rest: the first sunset walk the dogs took together on the bluff shortly after arriving in the neighborhood — a simple moment that already felt like home.
