Higher Elevation Roofing

Theron Hicks and Jenna Foley, Co-Owners

When Theron Hicks and Jenna Foley talk about their business, Higher Elevation Roofing, they don’t start with materials or measurements—they start with people.
“At the end of the day, this isn’t about shingles or siding,” Theron says. “It’s about taking care of people the right way and trusting that if we do that, everything else will fall into place.”
That mindset has shaped both their partnership and the company they’ve built together. While their paths into the roofing industry began separately, they share a similar perspective on hard work and persistence.
Jenna’s entry into the field came during a challenging season of life, when she was raising four kids on her own and looking for an opportunity to create stability. What started as a leap into the unknown—answering a simple job listing—turned into years of hands-on experience, growth into leadership roles, and eventually the foundation for building something of her own.
Theron, who is originally from the area, brought his own experience and steady approach to the business. Together, they combined what they had learned—both the successes and the frustrations from past companies—to create a model that felt more personal and more accountable.
“We saw where things could break down when too many people were involved,” Theron explains. “For us, it’s one point of contact. That way, the homeowner isn’t just another job—they’re someone we actually get to know.”

 Guiding Homeowners Through the Process
That approach carries through every part of Higher Elevation Roofing’s work. The company offers a full range of exterior services, including roofing, siding, gutters, metal work, and window replacement for both residential and commercial properties.
Each project begins with a clear, straightforward assessment, followed by honest recommendations and consistent communication from start to finish.
“A lot of people feel overwhelmed when something goes wrong with their home, especially if it’s unexpected,” Jenna says. “We try to remove that stress. We explain what’s going on, what their options are, and walk with them through the whole process.”
One area where the team has made a significant impact is helping homeowners navigate insurance claims, particularly after storm damage. For many clients, that guidance can mean the difference between paying out of pocket or having major repairs covered.
“When we’re able to help someone get their roof, gutters, or exterior work taken care of through insurance, that’s a big deal,” Theron says. “It gives families financial breathing room, and that’s something we don’t take lightly.”
Despite the company’s growth over the past five years, much of their work continues to come through referrals—a reflection of the relationships they’ve built along the way.
“We’re not chasing volume,” Jenna explains. “We’re focused on doing the job the way we would want it done for our own family. If you do that consistently, people remember.”
Family at the Center
Family, in fact, sits at the center of everything they do. Between them, Theron and Jenna have a blended family of seven children—ages 15, 14, 10, 9, 6, 2, and a newborn baby girl.

Their home life is busy, filled with sports, activities, and the everyday rhythm of a large household, but it’s also a source of motivation and perspective.
“It’s a full house, no question,” Theron says with a laugh. “But it’s a good kind of busy. We’ve built something where we can spend time together, be present, and not feel like work is pulling us away all the time.”
That balance didn’t happen overnight. As the business has grown, so has their ability to be intentional with their time and priorities. They’ve also seen their older children begin to take an interest in entrepreneurship, something both Theron and Jenna encourage.
“We’re trying to build a foundation they can step into if they want,” Jenna says. “Not just a business, but a way of doing things with integrity and responsibility.”
Rooted in Faith and Community
For Theron and Jenna, faith is at the forefront of both their family life and their business. They are intentional about running a Christian company, letting those values guide how they treat customers and make decisions.
“We try to follow God’s direction and not overcomplicate things,” Theron says. “When we do that, things tend to work out the way they’re supposed to.”
That steady perspective extends to how they view the community they serve. Having built their business largely through word of mouth, they’re quick to credit the people around them. “We can’t say enough good things about this area,” Jenna says. “The people here are supportive, kind, and loyal. We’ve been able to grow because of that.”
For Higher Elevation Roofing, success isn’t defined by rapid expansion or scale. It’s measured in repeat customers, referrals, and the trust they’ve earned one project at a time.
“When we meet someone, we’re not just there to complete a job,” Theron says. “We’re there to build a relationship. If we do that well, everything else takes care of itself.”
