The Prairie Invitational Comes to Lake Quivira

This July, top women golfers from across the Midwest will take to Lake Quivira’s course for a premier competition—where excellence in the game meets a meaningful mission to support and inspire the next generation of female athletes.

The 13th Prairie Invitational Women’s Golf Tournament, presented by Dr. J. Douglas Cusick (https://centrallinksgolf.org/competitions/womens-golf-schedule/the-prairie-invitational/), will be held July 20–22, 2026, at Lake Quivira Country Club. (https://lakequivira.org/)

This premier Midwest event brings together top female golfers to compete for regional honors while showcasing Lake Quivira’s outstanding course and community.

Beyond the competition, the tournament supports the Girls’ Performance Initiative (https://centrallinksgolf.org/girls-performance-initiative/), created by the Golf Foundation of Kansas City (https://centrallinksgolf.org/golf-foundation-of-kansas-city/) to remove financial barriers for young female golfers. Last year, the program assisted seven high school teams with travel, equipment, and uniforms, and helped junior players compete in national championships.

This year’s goal is to raise $25,000 to continue expanding these opportunities and support the next generation of women in golf.

Sandy Whitaker, Honorary Committee Co-Chair, is leading sponsorship efforts. If you are interested in sponsoring this initiative, please contact her at swhitakerlq@gmail.com.
Donations of any amount are appreciated and tax-deductible.
