Stanley Steemer: More Than Clean Carpets

For many homeowners, keeping a home clean means vacuuming regularly and wiping down surfaces. But there are plenty of places where dirt, dust, and allergens build up without ever being seen. That's where Stanley Steemer comes in.
For nearly 80 years, the company has helped families create cleaner, healthier homes through professional carpet, tile, hardwood, upholstery, and air duct cleaning. What began as a one-man carpet cleaning business in 1947 has grown into a family-owned company serving customers in 49 states, with more than 275 locally owned and operated franchises and company-owned locations.
Adam Starks has been part of that story since 2007. Originally from Marinette, he worked a variety of jobs after graduating high school, including welding, diesel mechanics, painting, and waiting tables, before making the move to the Fox Valley after meeting his wife. Today, he enjoys raising their children in the community they now call home, surrounded by family, friends, and plenty of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors.
One of the things Adam appreciates most about the business is its commitment to doing things the right way. Technicians receive in-house training and use U.S.-manufactured equipment designed specifically for professional cleaning. Instead of methods that can leave behind residue, their carpet cleaning process uses hot water extraction to remove dirt while protecting carpet fibers. Their truck-mounted cleaning system has also earned Platinum Certification through the Carpet and Rug Institute's Seal of Approval program, recognizing its exceptional cleaning performance.
Air duct cleaning has also become an important service for homeowners looking to improve the air quality inside their homes. Dust, pet dander, debris from remodeling projects, and everyday HVAC use can all contribute to buildup inside ductwork. With specialized equipment and trained technicians, the team removes that hidden debris to help create a fresher indoor environment.
Adam encourages homeowners to think of professional cleaning as preventative maintenance rather than an occasional luxury. Carpets, hardwood floors, tile, upholstery, and air ducts all have manufacturer-recommended cleaning schedules that help protect both the products themselves and their warranties. Staying on top of that maintenance can help preserve a home's appearance while creating a healthier space for everyone inside.
The company's reputation has been built on results. Customers regularly comment on cleaner-looking carpets, fresher-smelling homes, and noticeable improvements in indoor air quality after air duct cleaning. Those experiences continue to earn the trust of homeowners throughout Northeast Wisconsin.
Outside of work, Adam believes in helping others whenever he has the opportunity. While he doesn't focus on one particular charity, he's always willing to lend a hand to individuals or organizations that need support.
Whether it's refreshing well-loved carpets, restoring hard surfaces, or improving the air families breathe every day, the team is dedicated to helping homeowners protect one of their biggest investments: their home.
