Birdie
Named "Birdie" because the family lives on a golf course and her dad is an avid golfer.
Since August of 2024, our quiet neighborhood has been a little brighter, a little friendlier, and a whole lot sweeter. That is when our family moved in, but the real star of our new home arrived just a year ago.
I had fallen completely in love with the scruffy, expressive dog from the Jack Nicholson movie As Good as It Gets, so I knew exactly what breed we needed. Enter Birdie, our precious 15-month-old Brussels Griffon. Because we live right on the golf course and my husband is an avid golfer, the name Birdie was simply meant to be.
Birdie is an absolute lover. She truly believes she was put on this earth to be admired and adored by every single person and dog she meets. She walks through the neighborhood like a little celebrity, and honestly, she isn’t wrong. During her daily walks, if she spots something interesting, she will execute her signature trick: she simply stops, sits down, and quietly watches the world go by.
When she isn't carrying around her current favorite toy—a stuffed banana that she absolutely adores—Birdie is out socializing. She loves strolling the neighborhood to look for her best friends, Duke, Bailey, Bain, Teddy, and Jack. She also loves to visit the local park just to watch her buddy Cooper chase after balls. Even a trip to the vet is a major highlight for Birdie, simply because the staff showers her with the attention she craves.
If Birdie could plan her ultimate dream adventure, she would pack up her stuffed banana and head straight to Tallahassee. Her mission? To visit her human sister and play with all of her pets, proving once and for all that Birdie's heart is just too big for one neighborhood.
