For Sonia Keeling and her family, hosting has always been more than just putting a party together. It is about creating moments that feel warm, meaningful, and easy for everyone to enjoy.

After years of being the ones to plan and host celebrations for family and friends, Sonia and her family recently turned that passion into something more. This spring they officially launched Keeling Rentals & Services, a family-owned business built around helping others create those same memorable gatherings, but with less stress and more support.

The idea had been on their hearts for years. From graduation parties to bridal and baby showers, the Keelings became known as the family who could pull everything together and make an event feel special. Along the way, they noticed something was missing. There were limited options for families who wanted to host simple, affordable gatherings at home or in their neighborhood without the added pressure of large venues or complicated planning.

That realization became the foundation for their business.

Keeling Rentals & Services focuses on small to medium-sized events like birthdays, retirement parties, showers, and graduations. They offer a wide range of rentals including tables, chairs, linens, décor, tents, fans, bars, chafing dishes, and even antique china. But what truly sets them apart is the hands-on support they provide. From setup and cleanup to serving assistance, they are there to help every step of the way so families can actually enjoy the celebrations they are hosting.

Because they are still in the early stages of growing their business, they also offer something unique. Flexibility. Sonia shares that they are happy to work closely with clients and even purchase additional rental items when possible to help bring each person’s vision to life. It is a level of personalization that reflects how deeply they care about each event.

Their approach is rooted in experience. Sonia and her husband Joey are both CPAs with backgrounds in business and tax services, which brings a strong sense of organization, planning, and budgeting to everything they do. Their son Bryce, a recent graduate from the University of Kentucky with a degree in finance and management, is also a founding member of the business. Their daughter Emma, currently in her second year of dental school at UK, adds a creative touch with her background in visual arts. She is a graduate of duPont Manual’s Visual Arts program and has spent years working as a graphic designer for UK’s Student Activities Board and Student Government.

It truly is a family effort, with each person bringing something special to the table.

The Keelings have called Lake Forest home for nearly 15 years, and their roots in the neighborhood run deep. Many neighbors may recognize them from the Lodge pool, where both of their children swam on the Lake Forest swim team. Emma even spent a summer coaching, while Sonia captured memories behind the camera taking swim and dive team photos for several years. Bryce also worked as a lifeguard at both the Lodge and Palmer Pool.

Sonia and Joey’s story goes back even further. The two were high school sweethearts from Marion County who both went on to pursue accounting degrees, Joey at Bellarmine University and Sonia at the University of Kentucky. They were married in 1999 shortly after graduating and have built their life together in Louisville ever since.

As they begin this new chapter with their business, their goal is simple. Help families create meaningful events without the overwhelm.

Sonia’s advice to neighbors planning their next gathering is one she has learned through years of experience. Start earlier than you think you need to. Giving yourself extra time allows for better planning, less stress, and a more enjoyable experience for everyone involved.

With their combination of professional expertise, personal experience, and genuine love for bringing people together, the Keeling family is excited to serve the Lake Forest community in a new way.
