Field of Honor

The Exchange Club’s annual tribute honors America’s heroes and celebrates America’s 250th milestone anniversary.

Lido Isle resident Kay Munshower and her daughter dedicated a flag to Kay's brother who served in the Army during the Korean War.

For eleven inspiring days in May, Castaways Park was transformed into a powerful sea of red, white, and blue as the Exchange Club of Newport Harbor hosted its 17th Annual Field of Honor. from May 15–25. The beloved community event honored Armed Forces Day and Memorial Day while also celebrating America’s upcoming 250th anniversary.

Visitors were welcomed by a breathtaking display of 1,776 American flags lining the park’s pathways. Each flag paid tribute to members of the armed forces—past and present—as well as first responders who have served our nation and communities. Many flags were personally dedicated by family members and friends, featuring ribbons, names, and photographs honoring loved ones.

Beyond the breathtaking flag display, guests explored a Medal of Honor exhibit, a collection of historic American flags, and more than 500 pieces of patriotic artwork created by local students.

More than a visual tribute, the Field of Honor served as a meaningful reminder of service, sacrifice, and gratitude. Proceeds from the event primarily support military servicemembers and their families. For more information about the Exchange Club of Newport Harbor, visit exchangeclubofnewportharbor.org.
