Maddie came into her family’s life through All 4 Paws Animal Rescue. After being surrendered, she was quickly fostered by a volunteer friend who introduced her to her future home. She was adopted the very same day in 2022.

From the start, Maddie made it clear she was in charge. She’s social, sweet, and very vocal, always ready to let her family know exactly what she wants. Despite her petite size, she has a commanding presence and a routine that everyone has learned to follow.

Like most cats, Maddie enjoys resting, but she also has a playful side. She loves chasing a ball and, in her mind, is very much part "dog". Having grown up with a Chihuahua, she rushes to the door when the bell rings and even waits inside flip-flops, ready to go somewhere.

She arrived with her own small, well-loved brown cat bed in tow. Every morning, she settles in, kneading the plush edge with her paws, a routine her family affectionately calls “phoning home.”

As an indoor cat, Maddie’s world is the home she knows so well, especially the sunroom. There, she can stretch out in the warmth of the sun and keep a close watch on birds and squirrels that her family enthusiastically feeds.

One of her family’s favorite memories came after returning from their first trip away. Expecting a cold shoulder and a bit of distance, they were instead greeted with pure excitement… Maddie zoomed around the house, rolling and tumbling across the bed, clearly thrilled to have everyone back.

If Maddie could speak, her family imagines she’d say, “They don’t always come when I call them or go where I want them to be. They say they’re cooking or busy, but I don’t believe them. Still, they take care of all my needs and they love me.”

A true couch cuddler at heart, Maddie has brought warmth, laughter, and a sense of companionship into the home. As her family puts it, it’s amazing how such a small animal can have such a big impact, reminding them to slow down, pay attention, and enjoy the everyday moments.
