Growing Together in the M Streets: The Comstock Family

From Merrimac to Vanderbilt, Lindsey and Graham are building a life centered on family, connection, and the everyday moments that make this neighborhood feel like home.

The Comstock family’s story in the M Streets is one that has unfolded just a few blocks at a time - rooted in growth, young children, and a deep appreciation for the rhythm of neighborhood life. Lindsey, an attorney, and Graham, a builder, are raising their daughters, Emily (2.5) and Eliza (7 months), in a home that stays lively, busy, and full of connection.
Graham first planted roots on Merrimac in 2018. After he and Lindsey married, she joined him there, and it quickly became the place where they brought their first daughter home. As their family expanded, so did their footprint in the neighborhood. In 2024, they moved to Vanderbilt for a bit more breathing room, welcoming their second daughter there the following year, marking another chapter just around the corner from where it all began.
These days, their weekends are defined by simple, meaningful routines. On Saturday mornings, Graham and Emily make the familiar walk to Old Fashioned Donuts, returning home with breakfast in hand. It’s a small tradition, but one that anchors their week. They also make a point to walk to dinner whenever they can, frequenting neighborhood favorites like Snuffer’s, Aw Shucks, Gloria’s, and Prince Street Pizza, often crossing paths with friends along the way.
A large part of their day-to-day life revolves around Glencoe Park, where their daughters are part of a close-knit group that gathers regularly for story time, music, and playdates. It’s become more than just a park - it’s a hub of friendships and shared experiences during these early years. The family also spends plenty of time at Lakewood Country Club, enjoying golf, tennis, and afternoons by the pool.
Outside of family time, both Lindsey and Graham have carved out space for their own interests. Graham gravitates toward golf and tennis, while Lindsey enjoys needlepoint, Mahjong, and a monthly book club that has been meeting for eight years, many of those friendships rooted right here in the neighborhood. They are also actively involved at Eastside Community Church, where they serve and stay closely connected to their community.
Graham’s work in design and construction gives him a particular appreciation for the M Streets’ historic Tudor homes and the care taken to preserve them. For Lindsey, the appeal is equally practical - the ability to get downtown quickly while still feeling tucked into a true neighborhood. For both, it’s the walkability that stands out most. Whether heading to dinner, the park, or just around the block, it’s those in-between moments that often turn into conversations and friendships.
Their advice for anyone new to the area? Spend as much time outside as you can. The Comstocks have found that some of the best connections happen organically - on a walk, in the front yard, or at the park with young children in tow.
When they do venture out, they enjoy trips to Boot Ranch or quick visits to Fort Worth to see family. But more often than not, they’re right at home - grilling steaks, swimming in the backyard, and soaking in the everyday moments. Add in neighborhood traditions like the Halloween parade and block parties, along with their support of Our Calling, and it’s clear the Comstocks aren’t just living in the M Streets, they’re fully part of what makes it special.
