Muirfield's First Annual Pickleball Tournament
A Day of Neighborhood Camaraderie and Dinking
The Fellas
The Muirfield Social Activities Committee (MSAC) hosted the first annual Muirfield Pickleball Tournament on July 11, 2026, and the Village showed up ready to play—and have fun!
While the winners earned well-deserved recognition, what made the event special was the spirit of the neighborhood. Everyone was invited to participate, rankings were left at the door, and many teams brought their own cheering sections. The event captured MSAC’s goal of strengthening relationships and enhancing life in Muirfield Village.
Despite gray skies, the rain held off. Art Siegesmund checked the nets and courts, while Jarrett Jordan, Stephanie Gulau, and Ray DiRossi handled registration and setup. Don Chen and Karen Souza provided the music and microphone, and Ray kicked things off with the rules before play began.
The creative team names and enthusiastic supporters added to the fun. “Pickle Me Elmo” featured father-daughter duo Jeff and Eve, while neighbors Pani and Shirish played as “Picklers/United.” Father-son team “Polish Pickles,” Jack and Will, even had matching shirts and a cheering section. “The Kings,” Gideon and Jake, brought family along, including granddaughter Ivy. Recent Jerome graduates Breck and Graham, aka “The Fellas,” shared how much they appreciate living in a neighborhood that offers opportunities like this.
Congratulations to champions Brent and Denisa Hiles, “Love at First Dink,” and runners-up Shirish Joshi and Pani Kamalanathan, “Picklers/United,” for their outstanding performances.
As Robert Frost wrote, “Good fences make good neighbors, but good friends make better ones.” We’d add: neighbors who pickle and dink together are simply the best!
Stay tuned for the next tournament. Come play—or come cheer on your neighbors!
