South Village Town Center

November 2010

"Looking across the South Village Center greenspace on November 7, 2010, one could see only the flagpole, the newly planted lines of Ginkgo trees, some construction equipment in the distance, and the semicircle of geopuncture stones by Marko Pogacnik in the distance, where the Oval Park would be developed.  No buildings or homes existed along this section of Meeting Street at the time.

As a dramatic comparison, the aerial picture taken March 25, 2026, now includes a vibrant business district, mature tree-lined streets, and homes as far as you can see.  The geopuncture stones are still visible in the Oval Park, but now Meeting Street has come alive with tastefully designed homes and businesses that extend in the distance to the North Village and beyond into the Hamlet...a LOT to take in!
