Sherwood Cares celebrated another shining moment of philanthropy and community spirit as the annual Sherwood Cares Golf Classic returned on May 18, 2026, selling out once again on Sherwood Country Club’s championship Jack Nicklaus Signature course.
Under the leadership of Event Co‑Chairs Gary Brennen and Jeremy Hariton, the tournament raised an impressive net of $250,000 to benefit nonprofit organizations serving children and families within a 25‑mile drive of the Club.
As one of the foundation’s two marquee fundraising events, the Golf Classic continues to play a vital role in Sherwood Cares’ mission. Since its founding, the organization has granted more than $9.4 million to 67 local nonprofits supporting education, medical care, nutrition, and safety initiatives for those throughout the community.
“The generosity of our community is truly heart‑warming—and even more so knowing that every dollar raised goes directly to local nonprofits doing life‑changing work,” shared Dina Furash, Sherwood Cares Board President.
This year’s event was championed by returning Presenting Sponsor Polacheck’s Jewelers and new Presenting Sponsor SIM Club Elite Golf Indoors, joined by other major supporters including AmeriHome Mortgage, BG Law, Lamborghini Westlake, Sierra Pacific Construction, the Tesoriero Family, the Weinstein Family, and
Warehouse Discount Center.
Guests were treated to a day that blended luxury, camaraderie, and spirited competition. Premium tee gifts awaited each participant, while more than $50,000 in Opportunity Prizes—including an AmaWaterways river cruise for two and Aero jet transportation—added excitement to the fairways.
On‑course hospitality elevated the experience even further. Players enjoyed chef‑crafted poke bowls, reuben sliders, inventive desserts, and a dedicated coffee and smoothie truck offering personalized beverages. Contests and interactive activations kept the energy high, and driving range massages provided a welcome moment of relaxation between swings.
With its signature blend of elegance, generosity, and community connection, the Sherwood Cares Golf Classic once again proved to be a highlight of the social calendar—and a powerful force for good.
Sherwood Cares will next host its annual fundraising gala on September 27, 2026.
