Nestled in West Ashley just minutes from downtown and Old Village, this beautiful new Charleston County park is preparing to welcome visitors to one of the Lowcountry's most scenic preserved landscapes.
The 67-acre property is rich in history. Once known as Ashem Farm, it was home to preservationists Ashby and Emily Ravenel Farrow and later became protected through a conservation easement before being entrusted to Charleston County Parks for future generations to enjoy. Today, that vision is becoming a reality.
The park opened June 30th, where visitors can expect a peaceful escape featuring winding walking trails beneath majestic live oaks, scenic marsh overlooks, elevated boardwalks, and breathtaking views of Old Towne Creek and nearby Charles Towne Landing. Families will also enjoy a nature-inspired playground, outdoor learning spaces, picnic areas, an amphitheater, and interpretive exhibits highlighting the area's ecology and history. Every element has been thoughtfully designed to encourage exploration while preserving the site's natural character. There are restroom facilities, a gift shop, and a store for refreshments.
