3rd & 4th: Independence Day Celebration - Palos Heights
Join in for two days of fun, games, music, and fireworks celebrating the 4th of July in Palos Heights!
July 3rd Celebrations
- Kids' Fun: Inflatables and games at Community Park from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
- Live Music: Musical acts perform at Memorial Park from 5:00 PM to 9:15 PM (with The Throwbacks from 5:00 PM–6:30 PM and SODA from 7:00 PM–9:15 PM).
- Food & Drinks: Food vendors and a beer tent will be open from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
- Fireworks: A fireworks show closes out the evening at 9:15 PM.
July 4th Celebrations
- Independence Day Parade: Begins at 12:00 PM, marching down Harlem Avenue with local groups, floats, and bands.
6/29 - 7/17 & 7/20 - 8/7: Session 2 & 3 Kids Zone Summer Camps
Kids Zone is the place to be this summer for children ages 5 to 12! Highly trained and experienced staff will lead campers through a well-rounded program that offers something for everyone. Give your child a summer filled with adventure, creativity, and unforgettable memories!

11th: UNPLUG Illinois Day! The Great Palos Park Scavenger Hunt
The Great Palos Park Scavenger Hunt takes place on Saturday, July 11, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, at the Palos Park Recreation Center. This family-friendly, all-ages event invites residents to explore local landmarks, solve riddles, and win raffle prizes.
- Pick up your official scavenger hunt card at the Palos Park Recreation Center and follow the clues on your card to discover each destination in town. When complete return to the PPRC to be entered for a raffle and amazing prizes.
- Highlights: Teams will solve clues and complete challenges throughout the village. Completed scavenger hunt cards are entered into a grand prize raffle.
This event is held in conjunction with Unplug Illinois Day, a statewide initiative encouraging communities to power down devices and spend the day outdoors.
Unplug and reconnect with the simple joys of play, creativity, and community!
15th: Hot Dog Day & Concert in the Park - part of celebrating “America 250.”
Grab some Hot Dogs and get ready to groove to the timeless tunes of Whiskey Road, a band with a standout lineup of nine musicians - featuring four lead vocalists - Whiskey Road delivers rich vocal harmonies with a powerful stage presence packed with country, southern, and classic rock favorites!
Don't miss out on this unforgettable fusion of music, food, and good vibes. Mark your calendars, bring out your lawn chairs, enjoy some live music and let's make memories together!
