Driving the Dream

How 19-Year-Old Adam Boswell is Revving Up the Placitas Community

If you have seen a sharp 1968 Ford Mustang cruising through the neighborhood, chances are Adam Boswell is behind the wheel. At 19 years old, Adam is bringing a whole new level of energy and nostalgia to Placitas. He lives on Sinagua Rd with his parents, who moved here 15 years ago for the peaceful scenery. While Adam loves the open space, he is on a mission to bring a lot more action to the area.

Adam is a full-time student at the University of New Mexico, majoring in Instructional Technology. Thanks to years of online learning during the pandemic and growing up in the digital age, he turned his tech skills into a powerful tool for connecting with people. When he is not studying, he is competing in full-time sim racing to hone his skills. His goal is to become a professional race car driver, a passion sparked by a lifelong love for speed. On weekends, you will find him watching NASCAR, IndyCar, IMSA, or WEC, always rooting for the underdog.

His passion for driving sparked something even bigger. Thanks to that 1968 Mustang gifted by his parents, Adam co-founded the Placitas and Albuquerque Car Club alongside Placitas artist John Saunders. Launched with their first event in November 2025, the non-profit club brings local car enthusiasts together. While Adam loves vintage 1950s diners, classic tunes, and old school movies, the club welcomes every kind of ride, from muscle cars and lowriders to supercars, trucks, and motorcycles.

For Adam, the club is all about community. The group actively supports causes like mental health charities, KOAT Coats for Kids, St. Jude Hospital, and Toys 4 Tots. They also give back to the local businesses that host them, supporting spots like SOMA Coffee House, Placitas Pizza Co., Village Cannabis, and Wild Hearts Gallery.

You might also catch Adam hanging out with Bella, his parents' energetic one year old French Bulldog who loves joining car events and meeting new friends. When he is taking a break, Adam loves grabbing a milkshake at 66 Diner, Owl Cafe, Freddy's, The Range Cafe, or In N Out.

Ultimately, Adam is deeply grateful for all the support from his parents and the community that keeps this passion rolling. He is eager to keep expanding the club, hosting vibrant events, and building strong, lasting connections with other young people in the area who share his drive. Whether you are a fellow car enthusiast or just someone who appreciates good company and classic style, keep an eye out for Adam and his '68 Mustang at the next local meet up!
