After multiple unsuccessful attempts at a rescue, I found an advertisement in the Plain Dealer for a private owner in Grafton whose Cavapoo had a litter.  I drove over to meet them, and Bugsy was the last one available.  It was fate!

The owner named Bugsy after Bugsy Malone because Bugsy liked to walk around with a stick in his mouth, similar to a cigar.  He was four months old when I got him, so I decided to just keep the name.

Bugsy is a perfect companion.  When his owner relaxes, he relaxes.  When it's bedtime, he happily complies. When the doorbell rings, he barks excitedly--not territorial, as Bugsy has never met a human or animal that he didn't adore.  As a result, he gets lots of attention and back scratches when we go for a walk, but cats, not so much. 

His favorite toy is the cap from a shaving cream can, and he plays with it for hours.  As a result, his human mom has 300 cans of shaving cream if anyone needs some! 

Bugsy is also the perfect little traveler. Loves car rides, and falls asleep under an airplane seat quite nicely (with a little help from his human). 

So if you see a little white dog trotting around with his human in Red Tail, don't hesitate to give him a scratch or a pet.  But only if you don't mind a lick or two.
