A Standout Jaguar and the Man Behind the Drive

A Beast of a Ride

Predators and prey. These are the two kinds of animals that rule nature. The road, too, is like nature. There are cars that blend in with others, and there are those that stand out. In the case of David Sinclair’s Jaguar Van Den Plas, his vehicle is certainly in no danger of becoming something’s next meal.

The Story Behind the Car

The story of Sinclair’s Jaguar is a tale of achieving one’s dreams. “I have owned 18 up-market vehicles, including a Sunbeam Rapier, Triumph TR6 (which caused my marriage), 2 Audis, 2 Porsches, 5 Jaguars, and 2 Mercedes. This is the best car I have ever owned or driven by far,” said Sinclair. When asked about how long he has had the car, Sinclair stated that “I acquired it in 2013 with 35,000 miles on it. I was commuting daily to Fairlawn and wanted a car I could enjoy. Now it has 155,000 miles on it, so it has been a well-used car.”

Ownership and Lifestyle of the Car

Every luxury car needs a luxury owner to take care of and use it, and Sinclair is no exception to this rule. “I have a great repair shop that I take it to,” said Sinclair regarding how he maintains his car. “It is in original condition with OEM parts, which can get expensive.” In response to how he spends his time with the car on the road, Sinclair said that “I use it all winter and garage it in the summer when my convertible comes out. I can’t hide or fail to wave when I see my neighbors because they know the car.”

A Car Speaks About Its Owner

If his car could tell a story about him, Sinclair believes that it would say that he “loves art, great wines, great books, and that he enjoys life to the fullest.” The car has also provided great fortune, according to Sinclair, as it has saved him from many speeding tickets due to the built-in speed limiter. He hopes with this handy and eye-grabbing ride that people will think “It’s him again,” when Sinclair passes them by.
