Ace of Hearts

This playful Mini Bernedoodle has become the perfect addition to the Lesco family, bringing laughter, companionship, and plenty of personality to their home and the golf course.

An ace is one of the most powerful ranks that you can have in many games of cards. But aces aren’t just used to score more chips; sometimes they are used to enrich our lives and create everlasting memories. This is most certainly the case with the Lesco family and their wonderful bernedoodle, Ace!

The Backstory of Ace
“We both grew up with pets, always had a dog or cat around us. We took a break with the girls who were young and were at a point that we wanted to venture into pet ownership again,” said Celeste Lesco. When asked about what made the family decide to opt for a bernedoodle, Lesco replied that “Mike and Natalie Delarm recently welcomed their mini Bernedoodle Elliott, and the minute we saw him, we knew that was what we wanted/needed for our family.  So we contacted the same breeder and made the short little drive to pick our guy up from a wonderful breeder in Millersburg.  We’re definitely dog-type people, and we always dreamed of having a dog for the girls, but we never had the yard or the timing wasn’t quite right to take on the responsibility.  We wanted that special bond that kids have with a dog: the constant companion, playmate, and protector.”

Ace is also able to improve the home life of the Lesco family by quite a decent amount, with Lesco saying, “Ace really is the puzzle piece that we always knew we wanted.  The joy we see on our girls' faces as they run through the yard or roll around on the floor with him… it really is indescribable.”

What’s in a Name and Other Memorable Moments
“Ace is, of course, a term for a “hole in one,” but it was also great grandpa’s call sign in the Navy,” said Lesco. “We tossed around a few names, but Ace seemed the most fitting for a new golf course view.  He truly is one of a kind and a rare personality… very fitting.”

Ace is not without his memorable moments, and the Lesco family has plenty of them to share. “We do have a bit of a Tom and Jerry show at our house on the daily,” said Lesco. “Ace is constantly on the move, chasing our 2-year-old tabby cat up all around the house.  Some days you want to pull your hair out, but it's a great relationship you don’t typically hear or see.  Nor was it something that we anticipated.”

Additionally, Ace can sometimes be quite the troublemaker, with Lesco commenting that “Ace is hysterical when caught doing something he shouldn’t be doing (ie., capturing and tearing apart the cat toys or the girls' stuffed animals).  He’ll immediately roll to his back, legs in the air/around his face, like no, couldn’t have been me doing that naughty act.”

Ace is also a huge fan of the golf course and those that use it. Lesco says that “Ace is definitely made for the course.  He loves to sit in our backyard and take in the golf scene.  His favorite spot is the middle of the grass watching everyone that plays hole 8.  The attention he gets on Thursday night league… I mean, he can’t pass up all those ladies!”
