Building Confidence One Fence at a Time

Superior Fence & Rail of the Triad focuses on quality, service, and long-term value for homeowners

When Nick Berry stepped into the fencing industry, it wasn’t part of a long-term plan—it was an opportunity that grew out of relationships and a desire for something more. Much of that connection started at the ice rink, where he was actively involved in Raleigh’s hockey community.
“I came into the industry unexpectedly,” he says. “I was in a position where I felt ready for a new challenge and wanted a path where I could grow. After connecting with people I knew through hockey who were already in the business, it became clear this was an opportunity where I could really make an impact.”
Today, as General Manager of Superior Fence & Rail of the Triad, Berry brings a background in managing teams and growing small businesses, along with a practical, customer-focused mindset. His transition into the role was shaped by hands-on experience and collaboration with partners already operating in the Raleigh market.
“Taking what I learned there helped me start the Triad office off on the right foot.”
A Straightforward, Customer-First Process
For homeowners, that experience translates into a process designed to feel clear from beginning to end. Berry emphasizes that most customers aren’t just buying a fence—they’re trying to solve a specific need, whether it’s privacy, security, or defining their property.
“Our clients are asking us to visit their homes to solve a problem,” he says. “They need a fence for various reasons, and we’re there to provide a turnkey experience. We don’t use high-pressure sales tactics—we stand on our morals and show our professionalism through the service we provide.”
That approach carries through every stage of the project. From the initial consultation to the final walkthrough, the team focuses on communication and consistency. The company handles permitting, offers financing options, and keeps projects moving efficiently so homeowners aren’t left navigating the details on their own.
Options That Fit the Home—and the Homeowner
A major part of that experience is giving customers the ability to choose what works best for their property. Superior Fence & Rail offers a wide selection of materials, each suited to different priorities.
Wood fencing remains a popular choice for its traditional appearance and ability to provide privacy. Vinyl appeals to homeowners looking for a clean, low-maintenance solution, while aluminum and steel offer durability with a more decorative look.
“From wood to vinyl, aluminum to chain link, we carry one of the largest selections of fence styles in the industry,” Berry says. “Our national buying power means you save more, and our warranties give peace of mind for years to come.”
Beyond standard installations, the company also builds specialized fences, including pool enclosures designed to meet safety requirements and solutions tailored for pet owners. Gates, railings, and custom entry features can be incorporated to complete the overall design of the property.
Built for Long-Term Value
While product selection matters, Berry is quick to point out that installation quality is what determines how well a fence performs over time. Each project is approached with attention to local conditions and building codes, ensuring the finished result is built to last.
Warranty coverage reinforces that commitment, with workmanship guarantees and long-term protection on select materials. “Our commitment to quality is rivaled only by our foundation of customer service,” Berry says. “That’s what really defines the experience for homeowners.”
That mindset extends beyond individual projects. Superior Fence & Rail of the Triad stays connected to the community through support of local sports organizations and relationships with neighborhood groups—an extension of the same service-driven approach they bring to their work.
Outside of the business, Berry’s time reflects those same connections. “I still have a passion for hockey,” he says. “I play every week and attend local games whenever I can.” He’s also planning a spring wedding with his fiancée, with family spread across North Carolina.
As the company continues to grow, Berry remains focused on keeping the experience consistent and reliable for every homeowner.
“We’re there to solve a problem and take care of the customer the right way. If we do that well, everything else follows.”
