If you’ve passed the Shearwater tennis courts lately, you’ve likely heard the sound of rackets, lively rallies, and plenty of laughter. That’s the spirit of the Shearwater Women’s Tennis Program, where community, competition, and camaraderie come together.

Since launching in 2021 with 904Tennis, our program has grown from a small group of enthusiastic players into a thriving tennis community. Many of us started with little or no experience, but with encouragement, coaching, and team support, we’ve developed both our skills and our love for the game.

Our growth over the past few seasons has been incredible. From early success with D-level teams taking 1st Place, to advancing into higher leagues and adding more teams, Shearwater Women’s Tennis has continued to build momentum year after year.

For the 2025–2026 season, we proudly fielded three teams: B3, C2, and D. While our C2 and D teams are still finishing their matches strong, our B3 team ended their season in spectacular fashion, delivering a clean sweep in their final match, winning all four lines, and securing 1st Place overall. An amazing accomplishment and a clear sign that we’ll be moving up again next season!

A huge part of this success is thanks to Coach Juan Vasquez, whose leadership helped guide the B3 team to victory.

While we celebrate our wins, what truly sets Shearwater apart is what happens beyond the matches. From post-match coffee meetups and team lunches to fun socials and themed outfits, the friendships formed on these courts are just as meaningful as the competition. We support each other, laugh together, and create memories that go far beyond tennis.

Our program continues to welcome players of all levels. Whether you’re brand new or returning to the game, there’s a place for you here. With women’s teams, men’s groups, mixed doubles, and junior programs, tennis in Shearwater is truly for everyone.

As we look ahead, the future is bright. With continued growth, strong leadership, and an amazing group of women, Shearwater Women’s Tennis is only getting better.
