This Spring, Arcadia Silverleaf resident Susana McKee and long-time local Danielle Merrill are helping bring our community together for a meaningful cause.  

 

On Friday, April 17, 2026, K2 Adventures Foundation will host its annual Summer in the City Luncheon and Fashion Show at The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa.  Susana McKee and Danielle Merrill will be Co-Chairing this stylish event with a powerful purpose. They will be welcoming just over 300 guests for a day of fashion, philanthropy, and community impact.

Founded in 2009 by Arizona locals Kristen Salcito Sandquist and Kevin Cherilla, K2 Adventures Foundation was created to help individuals and families facing life-altering challenges from medical and financial hardship. For the past 17 years, the organization has supported different causes ranging from mental health, limb loss, cancer treatment, autism services, and educational scholarships.

 

Today, K2’s growing initiatives — including K2 Food and Families, K2 Kitchens, K2 Crafts, K2 Strength to Thrive, and the new Gus Mendez Valor Initiative — reflect the Foundation’s commitment to serving people in need. K2 is 5 star rated on GuideStar and Platinum on Charity Navigator with a goal of giving back 85% of all donations back to their mission.   Most importantly, funds raised at the luncheon stay right here in Arizona.

 

Susana McKee was introduced to K2 Adventures Foundation by Danielle Merrill, who has been a Board Member for the past three years.   Through their leadership, this year’s Summer in the City will once again turn a day of fashion and fun into meaningful impact for anyone who is in need - proving that style and service can go hand in hand.  For both women, co-chairing the event is about more than planning a beautiful day - it’s about connection - “When a community comes together with generosity and compassion, incredible things happen!” Susana and Danielle agree.

 

Summer in the City Luncheon and Fashion Show promises an uplifting experience.  It will begin at 10:30 a.m., followed by lunch, a live auction, and a fashion show at noon. With a blend of harmony and generosity, the event will offer attendees the chance to gather with friends while making a tangible difference.  K2 Adventures Foundation is all about turning Disabilities into Possibilities!
