Gentry Dentistry

Generations of smiles in the Suwanee community

For nearly four decades, Gentry Dentistry of Suwanee has been helping families in our community smile with confidence. What began in 1987 as a small practice founded by Dr. Harry Gentry has grown into a trusted dental home for generations of local families.

Today, the practice remains proudly family-owned and operated. Dr. Harry Gentry now works alongside his daughter, Dr. Darby Gentry Tompkins, continuing a legacy of care that is rooted in both family and community.
Dr. Gentry originally grew up in Old Hickory, Tennessee, before moving to Georgia in the late 1980s. As Suwanee began to grow, he built his dental practice on a simple philosophy: treat every patient with honesty, kindness, and the same level of care you would give your own family.

That same philosophy continues today.

Dr. Darby grew up right here in Suwanee and returned after school to practice dentistry in the community that raised her. Together, the father-daughter team leads a staff of eight who focus on creating a welcoming, comfortable environment where patients feel relaxed and cared for from the moment they walk in the door.
One of the things patients appreciate most about Gentry Dentistry is the wide range of services offered under one roof. The practice provides family, cosmetic, and preventative dentistry, including cleanings, X-rays, fillings, same-day crowns and bridges, veneers, dentures, implants, oral surgery, root canals, oral cancer screenings, pediatric and geriatric care, mouthguards, and even Botox treatments.

Their goal is to combine modern technology with a personal touch so that patients can receive high-quality care in a setting that feels familiar and comfortable.

For the Gentry team, the most rewarding part of their work is helping patients regain confidence in their smiles and restore healthy function to their teeth. Seeing someone leave the office feeling better than when they arrived is what makes the work meaningful.

The practice also gives back to the community by supporting local organizations such as Annandale Village and Home of Hope, often donating proceeds from teeth whitening promotions. Participating in local “Trunk or Treat” fundraisers has become one of the family’s favorite traditions as well. Outside the office, both doctors are active in professional associations and local initiatives, including supporting Suwanee’s own “Happyfeat” and the North Gwinnett Kiwanis Club.

Outside the office, family life keeps everyone busy. Dr. Harry and his wife, Kathy, raised two children, Darby and Jared. Today, Darby and her husband, Johnny, are raising the next generation with their young children, Maddux Jones and baby Gentry Mae. The family also shares their home with Bogey Sue, their Boykin spaniel.

After 39 years serving the community, the mission of Gentry Dentistry remains simple. Provide excellent dental care, treat every patient like family, and help keep our community smiling.
