Lights, camera, 25 years of impact!

One of North Gwinnett's most anticipated community traditions is celebrating a milestone this fall. On Saturday, October 3, the North Gwinnett Schools Foundation will host The Big T'Do: The Silver Anniversary Celebration, marking 25 years of investing in the students, teachers, and schools that make the North Gwinnett cluster exceptional.

This year's gala promises an unforgettable evening inspired by the glamour of Old Hollywood. Guests are invited to step onto the red carpet dressed in their favorite 1940s-inspired attire and enjoy an elegant night filled with marquee lights, live entertainment, great food, exciting auctions, and plenty of opportunities to connect with friends and neighbors. More importantly, every ticket purchased helps strengthen educational opportunities for students throughout the North Gwinnett cluster.

Edinburgh residents have played an important role in this year's celebration. Neighbor Lennette O'Hern is serving as the Foundation's Fundraising Chair, leading the efforts behind this milestone event, while Janeen Rumanes-Snow, with the JM Realty Team from The Gates Real Estate Group and a valued Stroll Edinburgh business partner, serves as the North Gwinnett Schools Foundation's President Elect. Their leadership reflects the strong commitment so many members of our community have to supporting local students and educators.

The North Gwinnett Schools Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing public education by funding teacher grants and scholarships that enrich learning beyond what county and state funding can provide. By supporting innovative classroom projects, fine arts, special education, and creative learning experiences, the Foundation empowers educators to bring fresh ideas to life while helping every student reach their greatest potential.

The Foundation's impact continues to grow. Last year alone, more than $81,000 in teacher grants was awarded to support innovative classroom initiatives across the cluster. These grants provide resources that inspire creativity, encourage hands-on learning, and give teachers the flexibility to create meaningful educational experiences that benefit students for years to come.

The Big T'Do has become much more than an annual fundraiser. It is a celebration of the partnership between schools, families, local businesses, and community members who believe that investing in education strengthens the entire community.
