July in Dublin: Events and Community Fun

July is a great month to live in Dublin! Pack your calendar with this exciting list of family-friendly events, sure to make this month one to remember.

Dublin Independence Day Celebration – Dublin will celebrate Independence Day with a full day of festivities on Saturday, July 4. The day begins with the Sherm Sheldon Fishing Derby at 8 a.m. at Avery Park, followed by the annual Independence Day Parade at 11 a.m. from Metro Center to Historic Dublin. Evening celebrations continue at Dublin Coffman High School with live entertainment, family activities, a Kids Zone, food vendors, and a fireworks show. Food Truck Wednesdays – Grab lunch at Food Truck Wednesdays in Coffman Park on Wednesdays in July, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The City of Dublin hosts a rotating lineup of Central Ohio food trucks each week, including Texas Steele BBQ (July 1), The Tasty Good (July 8), Explorers Club (July 15), Shega Grill (July 22), and Tortilla Street Food (July 29). Empower Hour – Mix up workout routines with free fitness classes led by certified fitness instructors in Riverside Crossing Park. Code Ninjas Summer Camps – Kids can explore coding, game design, and digital creativity this July at Code Ninjas in Dublin. Weeklong camps include JR Minecraft & Roblox, Minecraft Animation, and Digital Video Studio (July 13–17); Esports Strategy & Game Coding (July 20–24); and Minecraft Advanced Modding and 3D Modeling Basics (July 27–31). Columbus Duck Race – Head to Riverside Crossing Park on Saturday, July 18 for the Columbus Duck Race, a one-of-a-kind fundraiser supporting pediatric research. During this family-friendly event, thousands of rubber ducks will race down a 300-foot slip and slide, with this year’s patient champion announcing the winners. Library Events – The Columbus Metropolitan Library’s Summer Reading Challenge runs through the end of July, so be sure to sign up for chances to earn prizes and raffle entries! The Dublin Branch will offer several fun events this month, including a K-Pop dance program inspired by K-Pop Demon Hunters, chances to interact with reptiles and farm animals, and a jazz concert. Newsies Jr. – Catch the Abbey Theater’s production of Newsies Jr. July 16–19, a 60-minute adaptation of the hit Broadway musical. Recommended for ages 6 and up, the show follows charismatic newsboy Jack Kelly as he unites fellow newsies to stand up against unfair treatment and fight for what’s right. Mini Toy Box Workshop – Young builders can get creative at Lowe's on Saturday, July 18 at 10 a.m. during the free Mini Toy Box workshop. Kids will build and decorate their own storage box with compartments designed for keepsakes and collectibles while practicing hands-on building skills and creativity. Cinema Saturdays – Bring your blankets and pick up dinner in Downtown Dublin to enjoy a movie in Riverside Crossing Park on select Saturdays throughout the summer.
