Pizza, Neighbors, and New Connections at the Tiburon Fairway Party

Within our community, smaller groups enjoy close connections that make neighbors feel like family.

A few of the party planners: Camilla, Steve and Stretch.

The Tiburon Fairway Pizza Party brought neighbors together for an afternoon filled with great food, laughter, and meaningful connections.

Organized by resident Steven Hetzel, affectionately known as “Pastor Steve,” the event was months in the making. A former Lutheran minister, Steve said the event felt like Christmas worship after spending six to eight weeks planning the gathering and working on the details. Then, having to sit back to see if anyone came. With nearly 50 neighbors signing up, all in attendance appreciated the hard work.

Hosted by Cheryl, the event featured pizza and chips, generously provided by Jim “Stretch” Andreasen and Camilla Knapp of Keller Williams. Steve also expressed his appreciation to Deb, Cheryl, Jane (who provided some delicious cookies), HOA Secretary Mary, and his wife of 51 years, Karen, for helping make the event a success.
To encourage neighbors to mingle, attendees were dismissed for lunch by birthday month, creating plenty of opportunities for conversation as residents compared birthdays to determine who went first.

Among those attending were Vickie and Joe Roy, who moved to Tiburon three years ago from Lincoln to be closer to their daughters in Omaha. Vickie recalls knowing Tiburon was home the moment she stepped onto the deck and saw the view.

Longtime residents Mike and Cris Taylor, along with neighbors Ardey and JoAnn, shared similar reasons for loving the community: an unbeatable location, beautiful views, and the friendships that continue to make Tiburon feel like home.

As the evening came to a close, one thing was clear: the true highlight of the gathering was the opportunity to connect with neighbors. For all those in attendance, it was a wonderful evening filled with fellowship, laughter, and a renewed sense of community that makes Tiburon such a special place to call home.
