For Kathy Allen, Tiburon has always been more than a golf course or a neighborhood—it’s a lifetime of memories shared with her husband, Ken, their children, and now their grandchildren. “The early days were priceless,” she recalls. Alongside the general and limited partners, they built the course from the ground up, balancing jobs, family life, and the vision of creating a community.

Their daughter, Julie, became a “cart girl” during college, helping with tournaments, while their son Jeff spent every available moment on the course, learning the game alongside his parents. Grandchildren carried on the tradition: three grandsons and a granddaughter grew up exploring Tiburon, learning golf, and embracing the family-centered community spirit. Kathy smiles, remembering their granddaughter Kennedy following in Julie’s footsteps as a college cart girl— “The beat goes on.”

Tiburon’s traditions and events became a core part of the neighborhood experience. Kathy organized the first 18-hole ladies’ league, member couples’ golf outings, and social events that strengthened friendships and forged lasting memories. She remembers the excitement of watching homes spring up, photographing each new property, and hand-stamping Christmas cards to keep the community connected.

Ken’s dedication to Tiburon left an enduring mark. After his passing in 2022, a tree was planted in his honor by #2 tee box on Great White, and the Member’s Tib Cup established a revolving “Iron Man Award Trophy” in his name. Kathy continues to enjoy the course, now playing in the nine-hole league, embracing both the beauty of the course and the legacy of a life built around vision, family, and community.

Tiburon is, as Kathy reflects, “the best thing that ever happened to us.”
