Three Years. Countless Connections.

Made of Moments.Celebrating 3 years of STROLL

When I launched Stroll Topsfield in April 2023, I hoped it would help neighbors feel more connected. I didn’t know just how quickly it would become part of everyday life in our town.
Not long after the first issue arrived in mailboxes, the feedback started pouring in — emails, texts, social media messages, and conversations at the grocery store. Families began referring other families for features. Members of our senior community called to ask how they could participate. When our “Precious Pets” feature filled up an entire year in advance, I realized something special was happening. The seeds we had planted were beginning to grow into something meaningful: a trusted place where residents and local businesses could share their stories and connect with one another.
One of the things I hear most often is how much people appreciate having local events gathered in one place. Many residents tell me they don’t spend much time on digital platforms. Instead, they set the magazine aside and refer back to the events page all month long. Knowing the magazine serves as a helpful guide to what’s happening around town means so much to me.
What inspires me most about Topsfield residents is how they show up for each other. Whether it’s a holiday celebration, a community fundraiser, or a historical event, people come out in full force. This past year, two moments especially captured that spirit for me: the Holiday on the Green and Topsfield’s 375th anniversary celebration. Both were incredibly well attended and full of energy, gratitude, and pride in our town’s history and traditions.
Because of this work, I have the privilege of meeting more neighbors than I ever imagined possible. If someone followed me around for a week, they might be surprised at how personal and relaxed most of my meetings are. I spend a lot of time sitting at kitchen tables, meeting people in their homes, or chatting over coffee with business owners who are passionate about what they do. I love hearing why someone started a business, what matters most to their family, or what brought them to Topsfield in the first place. Those conversations are the heart of the magazine.
I also see firsthand the many “quiet heroes” in our community — the teachers, volunteers, committees, first responders, and service members who work behind the scenes to keep our town strong, safe, and welcoming. They don’t always seek recognition, but their impact is everywhere.
As we move into another year, I am especially excited to highlight veterans, historical stories, and residents who quietly make a difference. We also love celebrating milestones — weddings, graduations, new babies, student achievements, new businesses, and community events that bring us together. Often, these moments help put a face to a name and remind us how connected we really are.
Every issue of Stroll Topsfield feels like opening a gift curated by our town. Thank you for trusting me with your stories, your celebrations, and your memories. It is truly an honor to help share them.
The best part of this journey is knowing that the story of Topsfield is still being written — by all of us, together.
